Tasty Tuesday
Baked Potato Soup
INGREDIENTS
12 slices bacon
2/3 cup margarine
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
7 cups milk
4 large baked potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 green onions, chopped
1 1/4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium heat until browned. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
In a stock pot or Dutch oven, melt the margarine over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth. Gradually stir in milk, whisking constantly until thickened. Stir in potatoes and onions. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Mix in bacon, cheese, sour cream, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until cheese is melted.
* I make this soup without the bacon and it is delicious!*

How Does This Work?!
Okay - I know it sounds a tad confusing - I only linked myself from The Family Thread as an example. It took about 3 minutes to enter the recipe and link it.
Using Blogger posts as example:
1. Post your recipe just like any other post.
2. Open your page back up and click on the title of your post. Highlight the address in the top bar, go to Edit, then Copy.
3. Come back here and enter your name and the name of the recipe on the NAME line.
example: evie - (shredded pork tacos)
4. Enter the link to your post by clicking Edit, then Paste.
5. Then hit enter - if it does not work - just try again.
To read the recipes, just click on the person's link.
Email me if you need further explanation.
Enjoy! From now on - every Tuesday will be Tasty Tuesday!

Overheard
So APPARENTLY I nag Ben about locking the car when we go in to a store.
e: Did you lock the car?
B: (with a roll of the eyes) No I left it unlocked and flipped on the neon PURSE INSIDE sign.

Before and After
This is Toad's bed that we acquired from the Theatre's yard sale.
This is the finished "couch" for the playroom.

Road Trip
When traffic is stopped on the highway, here are some rules.
1. Take pictures of each other.

2. Take pictures of each other making funny faces at the cars beside us.
3. Sing at the top of your lungs with your Mom - who incidentally, knows every word.
4. Not pictured - dance up and down as much as the seat belt will allow.

Be Mine

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear;
and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)
i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart) - E.E. Cummings
