Saturday

The Irrigation Festival Grand Parade started at 12:00pm and lasted until 2:15pm! It was the largest parade I can ever remember attending. Here are some of our favorite highlights.
Steitler's reaction to the loud horns.

Thursday

"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead."
Louisa May Alcott

Wednesday

We walked the 1.1 miles from our house to Buzz, a coffee/ice cream shop and the kids had ice cream.
When they were finished, this was the conversation:

Maddie: Um, how how we getting home?

Ben: The same way we got here.

Maddie: Aww, why can't we take a taxi?

Steitler: I wish I had remembered my airlift caller.

Evie: Your what?

Steitler: My airlift caller. I could push the button and get us a helicopter lift out of here.

Red Robin

We went to Red Robin for dinner and found out that it was Kid's Night with Red. Red is a very large, rather scary robin that walks around making strange hand gestures to frightened children. Maddie nearly flailed herself under the table when Red wanted to shake her hand. Even Steitler the Brave refused a shake, offering a meager wave instead. One younger child at the next table cried until Red left our area.
Speaking of robins...we have maniacal, suicidal robin that insists on beating itself against our windows. On Sunday, Ben and I jumped out of bed, thinking that rocks are being thrown against our windows in the living room. We had not even reached our bedroom door when we hear Steitler yell down the hallway, "Crazy bird!" So we were all up at 6:30, courtesy of our own personal Crazy Red. This morning Crazy Red started his kamikaze mission at 5 am. Any suggestions to get rid of Crazy Red?

(Ben is cleaning the shot gun as I type.)

Tuesday

At the park behind our church in Bremerton

While in Siverdale, we could see Mt. Ranier.
It was 52 degress at noon in Sequim - it was 71 in Bremerton, an hour south.
UNO in the park

I kid you not, these were 40ish year old women slowly skateboarding along at the park.

Monday

Steitler registered for K5 so we went to the park to celebrate.
