Back
2010.
It has officially been over a year since I last posted anything here. Life was busy, hectic, crazy last spring. According to the last post, the kids were playing intermural basketball (and Steitler's hair was floppy) a year ago this month. Just a year ago, feels like another life, another lifetime.
I miss keeping a journal of our days here and I find myself with the time to catch up on the memory keeping. So, here we go. 2010.

February - March
End of the basketball season...
Dr.Seuss Day at school - Kevin, Katie, Steitler, Mr Martin, and Maddie

We have had a busy few weeks. Basketball is over and we are heading into soccer season. The weather was wretched the last part of Feb into the beginning of March but this week has brought 60 degree temperatures and signs of Spring!

2700

We currently live at an elevation of approx. 2700 feet which explains why we are home today for yet another snow day. Due to holidays and snow days, the last full (5 days) week of school for the kids was the week before Thanksgiving. In November. On the plus side, the ski resorts are having a great year!
The school book fair was last week and we had the most sales of any WV school. It was a long week - even with MLK Day on Mon. and 2hr delays on Tuesday and Wednesday. Maddie and Steitler wrapped up basketball practice and their games would have started today.
On a hilarious note...Maddie's Girl Scout troop has a new leader. Guess who?! Yes, I officially registered as a Girl Scout(at 30) and started my leader training yesterday. I know, laugh it up.

Getcha' Head In The Game
Okay, I have heard you! Here's to a new year of blogging.
Our new year has started off busy as usual. The kids started school on Monday the 5th and promptly had a snow day on Thursday, Jan 8th. And today, we have a 2hr delay beacuse of the snow that fell last night. I had to drive home from work last night while it was snowing and it was 15 degrees outside which also made the roads a bit slick but I managed to make it home in 50 minutes (usually takes 15) with no problems...until I turned on our street and the deer (4 - one with antlers and 3 whom I can only assume are his harem) who wait patiently in the cold for me to come home darted out across the road and startled me so that I almost ran in to the ditch. I should have seen it coming, they are waiting for me nearly every night.
Maddie and Steitler started basketball yesterday. They are both excited about the season.
My computer is having some technical problems so I will try to upload some pictures this weekend. Thanks for asking about us and wanting updates!

Away
We are busy this fall! The kids are doing great in school and have adjusted well to 2nd and 1st grade. Maddie enjoys "mountain language arts" and Steitler enjoys "music and recess." They started Awanas in September and are doing a great job memorizing their verses. Maddie started Girl Scouts -Brownies- last week and is very excited about that adventure.
Posting takes so long here on Blogger so please join Facebook to catch up on us weekly. I will try to link to pictures from here more routinely!

Weekend News
This is a lovely family photo taken in front of our garden. (Please excuse the fact that Ben and I are squinting.)

The above photo was taken with this handy camera tripod-ish gizmo(below). Given to me by my sister, Em, who is ever thoughful with each and every gift. We used to watch Inspector Gadget (the cartoon) when we were younger but neither the Inspector nor Penny had such a fantastic gadget. The camera was actually hanging upside down when it took our photo. The camera screws in to the black disc on the bottom. I cannot wait to find fun places to use my new go-go gadget! Thanks SO much Em!
Decked out in winter gear for our yard sale - it was pretty chilly!
