The kids and I went to the Dungeness National Wildlife
Refuge. We hiked to the Dungeness Spit and played on the beach.

The Dungeness Lighthouse - a 5 mile walk down to the tip of the Spit. If you look closely, you can see a white splash in the sky above the lighthouse - that is Mt. Baker.

We passed this deer grazing on the side of the road to the Refuge.

Did you have any trouble with breeches the spit from the December storm? Did you have to time this hike with the low tide?
Hi. I think the tide was coming in when we were there - I am unfamiliar with what the spit looks like at high tide. The Refuge trail closed at 4:15pm and we were there from 3pm to around 4pm. There was alot of log debris on the spit but I do not know what is normal(compared to storm debris) as this was the first time we had been out there. Sorry I could not be more helpful!
