We went to the Art in Action fair on the pier in Port Angeles. There was a sandcastle contest with a circus theme.

The beach has been closed for a few days because of a baby seal that has been staying on the sand. It's mother comes at night to feed it.

Bremerton

If you click and enlarge this picture you can see Mount Rainier in the background. It has been months since it has been clear enough for us to see Mount Rainier while in Bremerton and when we saw the mountain(actually - it is a volcano) today, it seems incredulous that we could ever NOT see it on the horizon. Bremerton is 80 miles from Mount Rainier.

Music in the Park Tuesday

Our week of rain ended on Tuesday, just in time for Music in the Park.

This week's band was TapWater and they were fantastic!





By the end of the night the coastal breezes were quite chilly. See the lady to the left? She is bundled up too!

Sequim Lavender Festival

Sequim - the lavender capitol of North America - has a festival each summer. Our small town of 3,000 people is packed with over 45,000 visitors on festival weekend. Some princesses were at the next table, please notice the boots.

We have noticed that people in the NW seem to take their pets very seriously.

Hands On Children's Museum - Olympia WA

Maddie and Steitler are exactly the same height. However, as you can see in this photo below, Maddie is clearly taller shoulder to shoulder.

Kyre Avens Sheppard was born July 14th at 5:42pm! She weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 inches long.
