Elk

Ben spotted the Roosevelt elk herd while making a delivery this afternoon. The kids and I dashed to the car and raced over to see them. We counted 42 in this pasture. We could clearly see the "leaders" who walked around while the rest of the herd slept and we saw one polishing his antlers on a tree. We could not see if any of the elk had on transmitters, which send a signal to the Elk Crossing signs on Hwy. 101. This alerts drivers that the herd is in the area and to use caution.
