Maddie is 11!

Maddie celebrated her 11th birthday with a Lorax party. She had a great time at the movie with her friends and cousins. Then we had pizza and dessert at our house.

We went to Spruce Pine, NC for a blacksmith festival on Saturday. Steitler had a fantastic time and was able to make a garden stake with the help of some art students. On the way back, we stopped in Asheville for dinner and Maddie bought some new Toms!

Does this sound unbelievable to anyone else? 2011.

2011 brings to me this year:

a husband (I appreciate and love more with every breath) with whom I will celebrate 11 years of marriage.

a daughter (the girl I wish I had been) turning 10. double digits. Put your hands up in the air!

a son (a gentleman and a scholar) turning 9. let's hear it for our last year in the single digits.

friends (near and far, old and new, close to my heart and newly dear) that make the good days better and the bad days tolerable.

family (multitudes, close by and far away) that help me remember that life is too short. Too short for most things that disguise themselves as problems.

a Savior (grace unto us) that loves me. Even today when I am exceptionally unlovable.
